The Spinsters have been put to rest again for now, but all at Biscuit Club would like to thank everyone who came, and to View From The Gods, for their lovely 4* review! It can be read in full here, or you can see some snippets below:

"There is, to my mind, no better start to a fringe show than a nice little East End sing-song, and that's exactly what Rebecca Bentham and Michael Watson-Gray delivered, ably accompanied by Adam Sowter on keyboard."

"The main joy of this entire production is being constantly surprised."

"(Bentham and Watson-Gray) are perfectly suited to the material ... they slipped through different classes effortlessly, Watson-Gray a larger than life, almost Biggins character, Bentham more elusive but no less adept."

"Director Brendan Murray brings out the light frothiness of proceedings rather than attempting any cold-blooded skewering of the ladies, which is fitting for the nod and wink tone established with the opening numbers. He's not afraid to add a few bizarre touches, though, such as the spinsters' subtle obsession with a porcelain bowl of fruit."

"The ensemble are great to a fault, with Lester's jittery but lusty maid having a few hints at Miranda Hart, but in a good way. Her interplay with a crisp Robson - who can turn from dowdy to sexy on a dime - is certainly a highlight, but each actress brings something new and distinct. It's a zippy piece, with a wonderful "What did I just watch?" ending"

"It's simply a lark... Blink and you'll miss them, but you really shouldn't."
